Why buyers look past Brevo

Brevo's G2 reviewers like the price and having email, SMS, WhatsApp, and a CRM in one place; the 50 we pulled average 4.31 out of 5. The reasons people leave show up in the same reviews.

Reaching a person is hard. Free, Starter, and Standard list email support only, and phone support starts on Professional at $499 a month. Unprompted Trustpilot reviewers describe AI replies that loop without reaching anyone.

“Maybe offer a customer service number. I tried to speak with someone to address billing and couldn't reach anyone.”Fabiola F., G2, Sep 2026

Each plan has its own limits. Starter caps automation at 2,000 contacts and charges $10.80 a month to remove the Brevo badge, sends are capped by the volume you buy, and sub-accounts wait for Enterprise.

“each paid tier has its own restrictions. So you're never really free of limitations, you just get slightly fewer of them the more you pay.”Ashish G., G2, Sep 2026
“Right now, we have to set up individual Brevo accounts for each client, which isn't ideal.”Verified User, G2, Sep 2026

The workflow builder handles welcome and abandoned-cart flows well, but reviewers with branching logic or layered segments say it gets awkward fast.

“The automation builder works fine for straightforward flows, but I hit a wall as soon as I need branching.”Khushal R., G2, Sep 2026

The most common theme in Brevo's unprompted Trustpilot reviews was an account suspended by an automated compliance check, often right after signup or a first send. Every provider on this page enforces anti-spam rules, so a move alone won't prevent that. Importing only opted-in contacts and warming up a new account lowers the risk anywhere.

Support you can reach, client accounts on every plan

The pick for teams and agencies who want a person to answer and one login for all their clients. G2 named Campaign Monitor Best Support (Small Business) and Easiest To Use in Fall 2026. 2. MailerLite

Every feature on every paid plan

For people tired of tier-by-tier limits. MailerLite says every paid plan gets its full feature set, and Power has unlimited sends for $49 a month at 2,500 subscribers, the same as Brevo Standard at that size. 3. ActiveCampaign

    Branching automation

For senders who hit the ceiling of Brevo's workflow builder. Every plan includes visual multi-step automation, with 950+ recipes, and there is a 30-day money-back guarantee. Plus is $49 a month at 1,000 contacts and $95 at 2,500, billed annually; monthly rates are not published. Starter caps automations at 5 actions, and human support is chat and email only.

  4. Mailchimp

Chat support from the first paid plan

Standard is $20 a month at 500 contacts, with sends capped at 12 times your contacts and up to 200 automation flows. Phone support is on Premium ($350 a month), unsubscribed contacts count toward billing, and its unprompted Trustpilot reviews averaged 1.07 in our pull (29 reviews), lower than Brevo's 1.43.

  5. Constant Contact

    Phone support on every plan

The cheapest route to a person on the phone: phone and chat support cover every plan, and the base plan carries a 30-day money-back guarantee. Its unprompted Trustpilot reviews averaged 3.33 out of 5 in our pull (24 reviews), well above Brevo's 1.43. Lite allows one active automation path, existing customers saw a price increase in August 2026, and its pricing page blocked our checks, so confirm prices before you switch.

  6. Klaviyo

    Online stores

For ecommerce brands whose Brevo store sync needs constant checking, a weak point two of its G2 reviewers raise. Klaviyo email costs $20 a month at 500 active profiles and $60 at 2,500, unsubscribed contacts aren't billed, and there is a free plan for 250 profiles. SMS is billed separately, and no phone support is published.

When to stay with Brevo

Stay if price leads your decision. Brevo was the cheapest paid option at most list sizes we checked, and its free plan sends 300 emails a day while storing up to 100,000 contacts. Stay, too, if you use more than email: G2 reviewers value running SMS, WhatsApp, a CRM, and transactional email through one account and one API. Brevo also holds a higher G2 rating than Campaign Monitor (4.5 from 2,621 reviews against 4.1 from 731).

The case for Campaign Monitor over Brevo

Campaign Monitor is the switch for teams that want email done well and support that picks up. Its G2 reviewers in our pull (98 reviews, average 4.38) point to a drag-and-drop builder that new staff and clients learn fast, clear per-campaign reports, and quick, knowledgeable support; its Capterra reviewers score support 8.3 out of 10. Agencies get sub-accounts and their own branding on every paid plan from Lite up, where Brevo asks for Enterprise. The trade-off is cost. Check the current Campaign Monitor pricing, the awards, or the full review record. The 30-day free trial covers 500 contacts and 500 emails and asks for no card.

How we sourced the Brevo review data

On October 4, 2026 we pulled the 50 most recent Brevo reviews from Trustpilot (August 20 to October 2, 2026) and 50 from G2 (45 from September 2026, the rest from March 2025 to January 2026). Trustpilot labels how each review was collected: 30 were organic, written without a link or invitation from the company, and averaged 1.43; the other 20 came through Brevo's invitation links and averaged 4.5. We compare organic to organic only. Campaign Monitor's 18 organic reviews averaged 1.44, level with Brevo, over a longer window (January 2023 to September 2026) because it gets fewer reviews; every sample here is small. G2 does not split reviews that way; its figure is the plain average of the 50.

Quotes are verbatim and credited as the platform shows the author. Prices are monthly in US dollars from each vendor's pricing page on October 4, 2026; Brevo prices by email volume, so we used the step that covers each contact count. See our methodology and the Campaign Monitor Capterra reviews.
