How we review Campaign Monitor

What this site is
Campaign Monitor Reviews is an independent review aggregator. We are not Campaign Monitor and we don't work for them. Our goal is simple: collect what real users say about Campaign Monitor across the platforms where they post it, then organize it so you can make an informed decision in a few minutes instead of an afternoon.
Where the reviews come from
We aggregated 101 published reviews across 5 platforms. We did not write, edit, or solicit any of them. Every review is the words of a real Campaign Monitor user, quoted from its original source:
- G2· B2B software reviews from marketers at small businesses, mid-market firms, and enterprises, many on LinkedIn-verified accounts.
- Capterra· Verified reviews shared across Capterra, GetApp, and Software Advice, mostly from small and mid-size teams.
- Trustpilot· Open consumer review site with a small, mostly unsolicited sample of Campaign Monitor reviews.
- TrustRadius· Long-form B2B reviews scored out of 10, many from agency owners and in-house marketing leads.
- Reddit· First-hand comments from r/Emailmarketing threads about Campaign Monitor, 2020 to 2025.
Campaign Monitor averages 3.9 across 1,400+ ratings on G2, Capterra, and Trustpilot. The reviews on this site are a hand-picked snapshot of that corpus, chosen to reflect its recurring themes, critical reviews included. The sentiment scores are Capterra reviewers' own sub-ratings, averaged over the 159 Capterra reviews we pulled, so they don't reflect Trustpilot's much lower score. Most 5-star Trustpilot reviews in our pull came in through a review link sent after a support ticket; Trustpilot labels them unprompted.
How we score and tag
Each review is tagged by sentiment (positive, mixed, or critical) and by audience (small business or mid-size & enterprise or agencies or nonprofits), so you can filter to the perspective that matches you. The verdict score on the homepage is the count-weighted average of the platforms' own public ratings, using the counts listed above. Our snapshot skews toward written and critical reviews on purpose, so its plain average (3.8/5) can run lower than the platform-wide figure. Neither number is made up, and neither is weighted to flatter the product.
TrustRadius scores are shown on its own 10-point scale. Reddit comments carry no rating. Two G2 reviews show no score in our pull, so we show them without stars.
Review lists open sorted by "Most relevant": detailed, recent reviews that describe what Campaign Monitor did for the writer come first, drawn from a mix of platforms, and the critical ones come after. Switch the sort to Newest, Highest rating, or Lowest rating, or filter to Critical, to read them in another order. The order never changes the averages above, which count every review we show.
Why we publish critical reviews
A review site that only shows praise isn't a review site. We include the negative reviews on purpose: the billing complaints, the support frustrations, the edge-case bugs, all verbatim and unedited. Balance is the entire point. It's what lets you trust the positive reviews too.
Affiliate disclosure
We earn a commission if you sign up for Campaign Monitor through links on this site, at no extra cost to you. This is how we fund the work. It does not influence which reviews we show, how we tag them, or the score we report. The data is the data whether or not you click a link.
Keeping it current
Products and sentiment change. We refresh the review set on a regular basis and re-check facts like pricing and features, and we stamp every page with a “last updated” date so you know how fresh the analysis is. This page was last updated October 4, 2026.
