Why buyers look past Constant Contact

Constant Contact reviews are warmer than most in this category. Its support reps get thanked by name on Trustpilot, and G2 reviewers like how quickly a newsletter goes out. People who leave tend to give one of three reasons.

The price keeps moving. Plans are priced by contact count, existing customers saw an increase on their August 2026 invoice, and most of the critical unprompted Trustpilot reviews in our pull are about annual renewals, refunds, and cancellations that took a phone call.

“There are limitations on the number of contacts you can have, and then they increase the cost of the program, which is unfortunate.”Verified User in Consulting, G2, Sep 2026
“The agreed amount at the beginning should be what we are billed.”gregory guest, Trustpilot, Sep 2026

G2 reviewers also describe trouble with the editor: drag-and-drop that undoes their work, layouts that break on phones, and test sends that don't match the preview.

“inconsistencies between the preview and the final sent email (for example, fonts or formatting shifting)”Hardik B., G2, Sep 2026

Automation sits behind Premium. Lite allows one active automation path and Standard three. Custom paths and ecommerce templates are Premium only, at $80 a month for 500 contacts per a search snippet of the pricing page.

“The automation features aren’t as robust as I’d like, but they can still get the job done.”Christian E., G2, Sep 2026

When to stay with Constant Contact

Stay if a phone call is how you like to get help. Constant Contact offers phone and chat support on every plan, with US phone hours of 8am to 8pm ET on weekdays and 10am to 6pm ET on Saturdays, and many of its happiest reviewers mention a rep by name. Its unprompted Trustpilot reviews averaged 3.33 out of 5 in our pull, the highest of the seven email tools we checked and above Campaign Monitor's 1.44. It also refunds the base plan within 30 days of the first payment if you have uploaded contacts and sent an email (the request has to go through Billing by phone). Reviewers also value the free workshops, the Canva integration, and social posting from the same account.

How we sourced the Constant Contact review data

On October 4, 2026 we pulled the 50 most recent Constant Contact reviews from Trustpilot (September 10 to October 2, 2026) and 50 from G2 (48 from September 2026, two older ones from December 2022 and February 2025). Trustpilot labels how each review was collected: 24 were organic, written without a link or invitation from the company, and averaged 3.33; the other 26 came through Constant Contact's invitation links and averaged 3.88. We compare organic to organic only. Campaign Monitor's 18 organic reviews span January 2023 to September 2026, a longer window because it gets fewer reviews, and every sample here is small. G2 does not split reviews that way; one of the 50 carried no star rating, so its average covers 49.

Quotes are verbatim and credited as the platform shows the author. Constant Contact's pricing page blocked our checks, so its plan prices come from a search-result snippet of that page; plan limits come from its knowledge base. Other prices are monthly in US dollars from each vendor's pricing page on October 4, 2026. See our methodology and the Campaign Monitor G2 reviews.
